YAHWEH HID HIMSELF

I will hide My face from them,
I will see what their end will be,
For they are a perverse [wicked] generation,
Children in whom is no faith [no trust for YHWH].
²¹ They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not YAH;
They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols [wood and stone].
But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation;
I will move them to anger by a foolish nation

ANYONE WHO KEEPS DISOBEYING THE INSTRUCTIONS OR LAWS OF YAHWEH WILL LIVE WITHOUT HIM. IN THE FIRST COMMANDMENT OUR CREATOR GAVE US HIS NAME AS “YAHWEH” [YHWH]. BUT HIS PEOPLE LISTENED TO FALSE PROPHETS AND TEACHERS TO CHANGE HIS NAME TO “BAAL” [the LORD]. TO DENY HIS NAME FOR ANOTHER IS THE GREATEST SIN, WHICH LEADS TO OTHER SINS. YHWH WILL NOT CALL DISOBEDIENT PEOPLE FOR EVER. AT SOME POINT, HE SEPARATES OR HIDS HIMSELF FROM THEM BECAUSE HE DOES NOT TOLERATE LAWLESSNESS OR SIN. YAHWEH DID EVERYTHING TO TEACH YISRAYAH HIS “WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS” – WHICH IS DOING OR OBEYING HIS WORD. THE SCRIPTURES REVEAL THAT THE MORE YHWH CALLED YISRAYAH, THE MORE THEY REBELED AGAINST HIM. ON SO MANY OCCASIONS, YAHWEH TOLD THEM THAT HE WILL HID HIMSELF FROM THEM IF THEY CONTINUE TO REJECT AND FORGET HIM. THE MAN – “ZEPHANIAH” – WAS BORN IN THEIR MIDST TO REMIND THEM THAT HE WILL SEPARATE HIMSELF FROM THEM IF THEY SERVE “GODS”. ZEPHENIAH MEANS “YAHWEH HIDES” OR “YAHWEH HAS HIDDEN.” WHEN ALL YISRAYAH FOLLOWED THE WAY OF “THE LORD”, HE SEPARATED HIMSELF FROM THEM.

THIS WRITE-UP IS MEANT TO TEACH US THAT WE NEED TO RETURN TO YHWH OUR FATHER WHO CREATED US. YHWH LOVES AND WORK WITH THOSE WHO OBEY HIM, NOT THOSE WHO CHOOSE WHAT THEY CAN OBEY OR DISOBEY. EVERY WORD OF YHWH IS RIGHTEOUS, HOLY, AND GIVEN TO CORRECT THOSE WHO COMMIT SIN. THE BIBLE DEFINES SIN AS LAWLESSNESS OR TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW (1 Jn. 3:4; Matt. 7:23). YHWH HATE THOSE WHO VIOLATE HIS LAW. YHWH’S TORAH, INSTRUCTION OR LAW IS NOT BROKEN AS FALSE TEACHERS DECEIVED MANY TO BELIEVE. FOR FURTHER INSIGHT ON THE LIVING LAW OF YHWH, READ OUR ARTICLE: “IS THE LAW ABOLISHED?” THE BIBLE SAYS TO BE RIGHTEOUS, IS TO OBSERVE AND KEEP ALL YHWH’S LAWS. OBEDIENCE TO THE LAWS PRODUCE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

“YHWH our FATHER commanded us to OBEY all these decrees [laws]… For we will be counted as RIGHTEOUS when we obey all the commands YHWH our FATHER has given us” [Deut. 6:24-25 NLT]

DOES YAHWEH HID HIMSELF AWAY FROM THOSE WHO OBEY HIM? NO! YAHWEH IS WITH THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. YHWH made it clear that those who reject His Holy Name and forget Him shall be accursed and perish [see Prov. 8:36; Deut. 28:58-61; Mal. 2:2].

Then it shall be, if you by any means forget YHWH your FATHER, and follow Gods (Satan, devils, demons, judges, rulers etc), and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.  As the nations which YHWH destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of YHWH your FATHER (Deut. 8:19-20; see Prov. 8:36;).

Is YHWH still with you?

The True children of YAHWEH i.e. obedient Covenant-Law keepers are all over the world today (although not many), they’re not of this corrupted world of lawlessness. YHWH is their FATHER and HE watches over them because they know His Name; they set their love upon Him, therefore He will deliver them, particularly because they did not deny His Name (Psalm 91:12; Rev. 3:8,10). The Name many people call HIM today is not His. Although Yisrayah forgot His Name, HE promised to REVEAL it to them:

“But I will reveal my name to my people, and they will come to know its power. Then at last they will recognize that I am the one who speaks to them.” [Is. 52:6 NLT]

YHWH lives in His people because their body is His Temple. As YHWH’s WORD is of Heaven, so His people are of Heaven because they hear and obey His voice. All those who believe and love His Word have their citizenship in Heaven, because they are governed from Heaven. Again, our MASHIACH YAHSHUA is in Heaven getting for us the Kingdom of the FATHER that will be established on Earth when He returns. Our lives depend on His Name; our defence is in HIS NAME – “YAHWEH”! Our lives, peace, blessings, and successes come from Him alone. Our SALVATION and ETERNAL LIFE is in YHWH, and the SON – YAHSHUA our MASHIACH (Jn. 17:3). We are commanded to always depend on Him. We do nothing without HIM. He spoke to us through HIS Son, Yahshua: “I will be with you to the close of the age” (Matt. 28:20). What if your faith is on the “God” or “the Lord” of this world who is called Satan – the devil – who deceived the whole world? [2 Cor. 4:4; Jn. 8:44; Rev. 12:9). Think about what you are reading! They are the Words of YHWH, and YAHSHUA. Many people never knew they serve the adversary who does everything to stop them from turning to the “righteousness” which is mandatory requirement to enter the Kingdom. YAHSHUA told us what our immediate priority must be. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of YHWH and His righteousness” [Matt. 6:33]. A very strong question is asked in Proverbs Chapter 30 verse 4, “Do you know the Father’s Name, and the Son’s Name, can you tell?” Unfortunately, many do not know, rather, they continue to call and worship “God” and “the Lord” which was used to corrupt, profane, and blaspheme His Name by the fathers of old. To worsen their lawlessness, the Gentile name – “Jesus Christ” – is written everywhere in the New Testament as the Messiah. Their rebellious act fulfils YAHSHUA’s prediction that they would believe and serve another messiah that will come in his own name after His [Yahshua] exit Jn. 5:43; see Matt. 24:4,5]. This is also the new “God” that come newly, predicted in the wilderness, which they will worship (Exod. 32:16,17). To those who seek YHWH and fear Him, HE reveals the secret of His Covenant Law so that they can obtain His righteousness for salvation and eternal life. Why are many people still adamant to read, hear and obey the Word that call them to return to the FATHER?

MRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS

Many people believe that miracles, signs, and wonders is pathway to the salvation. They believe that whatever name they call or worship in as much as they continue to receive miracles in such name, they are on the way to salvation and eternal life. This is heart deception. It’s not Biblical. These set of people believe that so far there are men who preach and perform miracles to them, they would surely be saved by adhering to them. The miracles, signs and wonders they receive makes them adamant, and hardens their hearts; it makes them not to listen and obey YHWH’s truth that guides them into life. They don’t know that miracles and wonders do not provide righteousness, neither do they lead to salvation and eternal life. YAHSHUA warns that in the latter days, many would be deceived because of miracles, signs, and wonders they receive, and as a result, they would reject the call to seek the Kingdom of YHWH and His righteousness. Those who pursue miracles and wonders at expense of salvation will be swept away into Satan’s trap, and they would not be able to know the false and true Messiah. YAHSHUA sounded warning to those who pursue miracles, signs, and wonders:

“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it.  For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even YHWH’s chosen ones.   See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.” [Matt. 24:23-25).

He [beast] did astounding miracles, even making fire flash down to earth from the sky while everyone was watching.   And with all the miracles he was allowed to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived all the people who belong to this world. He ordered the people to make a great statue of the first beast, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life.” [Rev. 13:13-14

Those whose faith is affixed to miracles, signs, and wonders, would be disappointed in the latter days when they would suddenly discover that righteousness, salvation, and eternal life is not miracles or wonders. They will tend to seek YHWH for their salvation, but it will be too late for them. YHWH will hid Himself from them because they refused to seek His righteous way through His commanded TORAH, LAW, INSTRUCTION, and the WORD, WHICH IS THE PATHWAY FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE.

YHWH HID HIMSELF

 

Now, the real question is: ‘Why did YHWH hid Himself from His people?’ The answer is in His WORD – Deut. 32:20-21:

“And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them,
I will see what their end will be,
For they are a perverse [wicked] generation,
Children in whom is no faith [no trust for YHWH].
²¹ They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not YAH;
They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols [wood and stone].
But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation;
I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.” [i.e., Assyria, Babylon]

2 Kings 21 ¹³ And I will stretch over Yerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Yerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 

2 Chronicles 33 ¹⁰ And YHWH spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they would not listen. ¹¹ Therefore YHWH brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, bound him with bronze fetters, and carried him off to Babylon. ¹² Now when he was in affliction, he implored YHWH his FATHER, and humbled himself greatly before YHWH of his fathers, ¹³ and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty [appeal, petition], heard his supplication, and brought him back to Yerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that YHWH was YAH.

Comment: The reason YHWH hides Himself from His people is because of their sin; because of rebelling against His Law; because of their perverse, obstinate, wilful, stubborn, rebellious hearts against His Word. The name, Zephaniah, was given to remind Yisrayah, and today’s rebellious people how their disobedience would cause YHWH to hid Himself from them. The rebellion of Yisrayah in the days of Manasseh, King of Judah, was unbearable. Manasseh was the oldest of the sons of Hezekiel. He became king at the age of 12 and reigned for 55 years (2 Kings 21:1; 2 Chron. 33:1). Ahab and Manasseh made Yisrayah to sin. During Manasseh’s long and peaceful reign, Judah was a submissive ally of Assyria – who worshipped Baal (the Lord). Yahweh used Assyria to scatter the 10 tribes of Yisrayah because they worshipped the Lord God, while Babylon exiled the tribe of Judah – because of the same reason. The sins of the fathers and their children made YHWH to hide His face, and He scattered them into Gentile nations till date.

Most times, prayers are not answered, even when needed most. YET, one doesn’t ask: ‘Is YHWH still with me?’ Failure to examine oneself to ascertain if YHWH is still with him may cause loss of permanent relationship because of SIN. Sin is disobedience to HIS Word [LAW]. Sin is the reason HE is angry with mankind. This happens because of their wickedness and their loss of faith. Abandoning YAHWEH is worshipping another ‘mighty one’ – “Satan” [Lord, God] the Deceiver who manipulate people for worship via ‘wood and stone’ found in religions of the world [Deut. 4:28; 2 Cor. 4:4]. Worship of “the Lord” and breaking of other Covenant Laws are what provoke YHWH’s anger and cause Him not to answer prayers. What keep us united and in continuous relationship with YHWH is obedience to HIS WORD. When HIS WORD is broken, HE walks away, and the person enters trouble (e.g., curse, enemy attack, hardship, distress, sickness, and death). YHWH’s WORD is made flesh in the SON, YAHSHUA. Do you understand this! And we are invited to eat and drink from the WORD, which leads to righteousness and salvation. SIN is the cause YHWH walk away from His people. Unfortunately, many follow Satan that has deceived the whole world, with lies, miracles, signs, and wonders. The Scriptures stated that YAHWH hides His face from disobedient people.

2 Kings 22:13
“Go and inquire of YHWH for me, for the people, and for all Judah concerning the words in this book [Book of Covenant] that has been found. For great is the wrath of YHWH that burns against us because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book by doing all that is written about us.”

Isaiah 64:7
“No one calls on Your name or strives to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.”

“‘I will hide My face from them,
I will see what their end will be,
For they are a perverse generation,
Children in whom is no faith’” (Deut. 32:20 NKJV).

And I will surely hide my face in that day because of all the evil that they have done, because they have turned to other gods (Deut. 31:18, English Standard Version)

“On that day My anger will burn against them (Yisrayah), and I will abandon them (Yisrayah) and hide My face from them (Yisrayah), so that they will be consumed, and many troubles and afflictions will befall them. On that day they will say, ‘Have not these disasters come upon us because our YHWH is no longer with us?” (Deut. 31:17)

Isaiah 8:17
I will wait for YHWH, who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob. I will put my trust in Him.

Isaiah 26:20
Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed.

When YHWH hide HIS face, prayers are not answered: trouble of the enemies start, the individual begins to fall into all manner of problems because the Owner of Life – YHWH – walks away. This is moment of torture and anguish. In the days of Yisrayah of old, the reason for unanswered prayers was because of Yisrayah’s multitude of sin. This affects every individual that has followed ‘another Messiah’ [false messiah] to worship on day(s) not authorised by YAHWEH e.g. Christian – Sundays, and Moslem – Fridays, instead of SHABBAT day which YHWH appointed as a Holy Day of rest (see Ezekiel 20:1-25). Breaking the Holy Shabbat Day of rest for another day is death (Exod. 31:14,15; see Heb. 4:1-11)). Refusal to call and worship in His Name will earn the disobedient eternal death (Mal. 2:2; Ps. 16:4; Deut. 28:58-61; see Hos. 13:4; Exod. 23:13). Today many dwells in telling lies, stealing, covetousness, sexual immorality, backbiting/backstabbing someone, etc. In today’s Gentile world, everyone must strive to save himself by obeying HIS Word; it’s no longer an issue of Yisrayah as a nation; rather, everyone will be saved based on their efforts to REPENT, OBEY HIS WORD, and RETURN to YHWH. Yisrayah who repent shall be saved as YAHSHUA returns (Rom. 11:25). Solution is for everyone to truly examine and judge himself so that he may not be judged (1 Cor. 11:28,31). Therefore, repent and return to YAHWEH for His mercy; sincerely confess your sins, repent and deeply seek HIS FACE, and you will find Him. For YAHWEH said:

“But from there [Gentile nations where Yisrayah are scattered] you will seek YAHWEH your FATHER, and you will find HIM if you seek HIM with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to YAHWEH your FATHER and obey HIS voice” (Deut. 4:29-30 NKJV).

YAHSHUA reminds us that in the latter days when trial, trouble, and great tribulation will engulf the world, those that will be saved will cry to Him, seek HIM as they return to HIM in true repentance.

Matthew 23 ³⁷ “O Yerusalem, Yerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones YHWH’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let ME [YAHSHUA].  ³⁸ And now, look, your house is abandoned and desolate. ³⁹ For I tell you this, you will never see ME again until you say, ‘Blessings on the ONE who comes in the Name of YHWH!’”

Today, we are all in the Gentile world where His people still worship Satan-the-deceiver who deceives people to worship him through objects like “wood and stone” (Deut. 4:28, 29-30; Deut. 32:16-17 NKJV) in different religions. Satan use images, objects, or pictures to attract people towards miracles, signs, and wonders. Through the medium [images, objects, pictures] Satan sets before them, he cause miracles to happen, and thereby he receives glory and honour from the unsuspecting worshippers. He is going to display the same technique with the beast in these latter days (Rev. 13:2-4). This is abomination and YHWH hates it. Those who would worship the beast shall perish, just like those who worship via pictures or objects [Rev. 14:10-11]. Therefore, seek YHWH with all your heart and with all your soul, you will find HIM. Do not harden your heart, submit to YAHSHUA MESSIAH (not to “Jesus” of Gentile world) for your PEACE and SALVATION. Then, cry aloud to the FATHER, YAHWEH, and HE will answer you, and be with you always. The good news today is that those who diligently seek YHWH are beginning to find HIM as HE promised. This will continue until Yisrayah repent and be restored (Lev. 26:40-45). However, in the end, only remnant will be saved.
